 The Maricopa County Libertarian Party was able to secure a voter registration table at Phoenix's Crossroads of the West Gun Show. This is the largest gun show in Arizona with 15,000+ attendees.
While we have rented tables at previous shows, this was our first complimentary table. Better yet, we were located right at the main entrance next to the GOA and NRA.
After explaining our no compromise position on the Second Amendment and each individual's right of self-defense, show organizers agreed that registering gun owners was an excellent idea.
While Republicans and Democrats equate gun shows to terrorist training camps, Libertarians stand firm in our support of gun ownership. When you actually do the research, it is obvious that criminal activity involving a gun does not occur at these shows. In fact, gun show accidents are almost non-existent. There just is not a problem. Compare this to the high level of criminal activity in a "gun free" city like New York or Washington DC. Where do you feel safer?
